Teaching Learners about Fog

February 21, 20140 Comments

This week has been hectic to say the least and what with Fresh Start 2014 coming up fast I’ve not had chance to record a blog video. However I found this video I did last year after the accident on the Sheppey Crossing in Kent involving over one hundred vehicles. Obviously this video is still very relevant especially this time of year.  On this video blog I go through a few points mentioned in Driving the Essential Skills and what we are teaching pupils about separation distance if cars are close behind us etc.

As always feel free to comment on this blog post and any others in the comments box on the bottom of the pages.

For those of you going to Fresh Start on Sunday for the social evening  and the awards ceremony, or Monday to the actual event then please come and say hi (on Monday we will have a stand).

When he first qualified Blaine admits his was not a very good instructor, became disillusioned, was not retaining pupils and not making any money, so he quit full time teaching. After spending time self-reflecting, he had a light bulb moment and realised that he needed to put more explanation, effort and enthusiasm into teaching learners. Since then he has not looked back and is now regarded as one of the top trainers in the country.
